Why a Blog?

For those of you that are new to blogging, I would like to explain that this forum can be whatever we make of it. As an addition to our main webpage and our newsletter, both of which are currently in development, the blog will allow us to the opportunity to communicate outside of our formally scheduled meetings.

I hope that we can use this site as both an informational and networking tool. Please feel free to open discussions regarding new developments in our industry, post leads such as job or internship opportunities, or raise any issue that you feel is appropriate. For example, I was having an interesting discussion the other day with a fellow graduate student on whether or not to put your GPA on your resume. I've always assumed that was fine, but I heard some very interesting arguments against it. For those of you about to graduate, this could be a beneficial discussion.
